The Freshest Kaffir Lime Leaves and Fruit Outside of Asia
Our Kaffir leaves are sold in clear plastic packs, suitably labelled, each containing 15,75 or 100 grams of freshly picked leaves so you can easily see the quality of product you are buying.
The kaffir lime fruit, is a rough, warty green fruit which grows to a maximum size of about 4 centimetres. Our kaffir fruit is sold in packages of 12, 24 or 36 fruits per pack.
Kaffir lime plants grow for 12 months of the year and we constantly add new kaffir plants to enable us to maintain continuity of supply to our customers.
As you may already be aware, kaffir lime leaves and kaffir limes are used extensively in various forms of cooking including dishes from Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia. Kaffir leaves can be sliced, diced, pulverised, frozen, or dried and are extremely versatile.
The kaffir lime can be juiced (though they contain very small amounts) and the rind can be grated for zest and dried or used fresh with fresh being the superior option. The rind or zest of the lime is often used in both Lao and Thai curry paste, adding an aromatic, astringent flavour.
